Hazel Grove Golf Club is an established Stockport golf club that has a reputation in Cheshire for being one of the finest examples of a parkland course. http://www.hazelgrovegolfclub.co.uk/ The course was designed and built by Dr Alister MacKenzie back in 1913 http://www.alistermackenzie.co.uk/ the leading course designer of his time, listing Augusta, Cypress Point and Hazel Grove amongst his worldwide golf course achievements. Now almost 100 years onand before we know it 2013 will be upon us, and with it perhaps one of the most important years in Hazel Grove Golf Club's history.
The whole club is already working towards making our 100th birthday one that we will all be celebrating our Centenary in style - you can count on that!
All sorts of events are being considered to make this year extra special, both on and off the course.
However, In order to fulfil these dreams, money will be required and so the Club is already 12 months into its fundraising activities in order to raise as much as possible over the next three years so that we can do this special occasion justice.
Our target is £40,000.
Through this blog and the club website we will keep you fully informed of developments as the Centenary preparations get under way.
You can appreciate, all this takes major organisation, which is why a Centenary Committee has been formed to evaluate the members centenary ideas, obtain costs and feasibility studies, and make recommendations.
